How This Project Got Started

The reality of COVID-19 struck us quickly--cases skyrocketed by the day, social institutions and businesses shut down operations, and the “normalcy” of our daily lives ceased to exist. Mass confusion was left in the wake of these unparalleled times, and many of us still feel that confusion today. With hopes of finding answers amidst the chaos, Dr. Kate Fischer, a professor of anthropology at the University of Colorado Boulder, assembled us, a team of undergraduate students, to share our unique perspectives on how the pandemic has affected every one of us.

How This Project Was Accomplished

Under the guidance of Dr. Fischer, we came together to collaborate (via Zoom) on the exploring life during the COVID-19 pandemic. Each individual on our team has contributed their own project to provide a broader (yet personal) insight on the social repercussions of the pandemic. The culmination of our team efforts has resulted in two mediums of communication -- this website and an Instagram account (@intothecoronaverse) to document our past and ongoing work.

What Our Hope for the Future of This Project Is

Thus far, we have strived to create an assorted and detailed documentation of the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly from the viewpoint of students at the University of Colorado Boulder. This will continue to be our mission as this project grows, especially through work ranging from data-driven research to more introspective pieces of reflection. As our project continues, we hope to offer you--now and long into the evolving future--a valuable peek into our Coronaverse.
